Cabo Matapalo is located on the southernmost tip of the Osa Peninsula. The Osa Peninsula is in the extreme southwestern part of Costa Rica near the border with Panama. Cabo Matapalo is where the rainforest meets the sea. Surfers come to Cabo Matapalo for its renowned point breaks, and the seclusion and lack of competition for waves. This area is mostly undeveloped and isolated but that is what makes it so appealing to hardy souls. Along with Carate and Corcovado it is one of the most extreme regions of Costa Rica. The area combines dense jungles chock full of animals, breathtaking beaches and world class surfing in a peaceful remote setting.
